15 Alaska playwrights make Last Frontier cut
A staging of "The Sunset Clause" by Fairbanks playwright Ann Hanley at 2007's Last Frontier Theatre Conference.
Coming from a recordbreaking pool of 270 submissions, just 62 plays were put to use, including works by Anchorage playwrights Linda Billington, Ryan Buen, Rita A. Miraglia, P. Shane Mitchell, Mark Muro, Casey Prout and Mark Stoneburner.
The conference schedule remains in flux, but you can find plans to highlight another Anchorage playwright: On June 16, Three Wise Moose will work Arlitia Jones' play "Sway Me Moon," which premiered in February at Out North.

I want to encourage every theater artist and patron to take part in this conference. I have rearranged my agenda for more than a dozen years to eat quite as much of it as being possible and have didn't have it been under fantastic. It is my annual strategy for touching base with colleagues from out of state, traversing to a week of shows, getting new ideas as well as in general recharging my artistic battery.
