My research question for you is this: Why did only part of America attack Lower and upper Canada?
Well it appears to not possess a clear explanation to start with, but once I needed dug for the facts a little, it became clear.
To start the British were engaged in the Napoleanic Wars there was obviously a blockade in position preventing invest France. The people who supported the war were mainly the South and West of America. The South and West wanted more land, also they considered that should they could get rid of the British incitement of the Indians they might gain that land also. Since the thought of invading spread, increasingly more representatives stepped up. These representatives were dubbed Hawks
Individuals that were from the invasion and war were mainly New Englanders who failed to want to damage their trade relations by opposing Britain. Additionally, they didn't wish to fight Britain, as it would seem like these were helping France because Britain was engaged in war using them too. The newest Englanders and Federalists held a secret meeting at Hartford Connecticut.
Following your War was ended with the Treaty of Ghent, USA was unified with the victory at New Orleans, get rid of world war 2 sealed the fate of the Federalists which never regained it power.
