People which are from the invasion and war were mainly New Englanders who would not need to damage their trade relations by opposing Britain. In addition they didn't want to fight Britain, given it seems like they were helping France because Britain was involved in war with them too. The newest Englanders and Federalists held a secret meeting at Hartford Connecticut.
Following your War was ended with the Treaty of Ghent, USA was unified through the victory at New Orleans, eliminate the War sealed the fate in the Federalists which never regained it power.
